The problem is that DNS lookups in Asterisk *SUCK*.  Boot your 
Asterisk box during a transient DNS issue Exmaple: power goes out, 
your battery backup finally runs out, the power comes back and your 
Asterisk box boots more than your internet gateway/router.  Life will 
suck as Asterisk (at least in 1.0.x) will not be able to look up the 
hostname.
