The recent Vonage decision by the FCC basically said: VoIP as it is done 
with services like Vonage is basically interstate in nature and is thus 
only subject to federal oversight, not subject to state or local 
oversight. That didn't answer the taxation question, but it gives you an 
idea of where things are probably going.
