I'm Steve Davies, coming to Astridevcon from Cape Town in South
Africa (http://www.cape-town.org/). I'm coming as an attendee,
though I feel a bit of a faker considering how little development
I've found time for lately.

You'll spot me as the only grey-haired guy there. But I'm younger
than I look ;-)

My contributions have been all about scratching my own itches -
originally improving Asterisk's behaviour as a SIP client way back in
2002 (Route stuff), lots of stuff on the IAX2 jitter buffer (since
obsoleted by Steve Kann's new one), and tracking down and fixing
various tricky bugs.

Good at protocols and nitpicky detail stuff.

Anyway - I make my living from Asterisk - http://connection-
telecom.com/ - so that gives me some insight into Asterisk in
production. I'm interested in using the time to do some work on
making Asterisk more manageable - redoing the logging to make the log
files more manageable, gathering more statistics, maybe exposing more
data and config via SNMP, via the manager/html interface etc.

Otherwise let's see what I get drawn into.

I was at Atlanta for Astricon 2005, though we didn't do much
sightseeing. Did drink a beer with Captain Crunch... This time I'd
like to go to the King Centre^h^her. Apple Shop will probably draw
me in too.

Steve
