Can I run a script (either in extensions.conf, or ael, or
whatever) when that is detected? If so, I will create a
small app which allows me to type a telephone number on my
computer, I can then lift the phone & the script will
go find the number I typed, and dial it for me.<br>

<div>Look at this option in the chan_dahdi.conf.sample file:<br>
<br>
; Specify whether the channel should be answered
immediately or if the simple<br>
; switch should provide dialtone, read digits, etc.<br>
; Note: If immediate=yes the dialplan execution will
always start at extension<br>
; 's' priority 1 regardless of the dialed number!<br>

;immediate=yes<br>
