Hi all,

I will really appreciate if you can spend some time to share your experience or point me in right direction.
I have been told to prepare a single box Asterisk system (No Distributed architecture) for following features.

->Asterisk 1.8
->300 SIP extensions (sip.conf)
->8 port PRI card (E1) with h/w based echo cancellation
->All calls to be recorded
->IVR
->ACD (Real time Queue)
->240 concurrent calls in the worst case (DAHDI to SIP and/or SIP 2 DAHDI).
->No transcoding
->Remote Database
->Recordings and logs are to be cleaned up/moved every other week.

I have gone through some documents for Asterisk dimensioning (http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+dimensioning ,
http://www.voip-info.org/wiki/view/Asterisk+hardware+recommendations). Seeing the factsheet I plan to go for Quad core, 3+Ghz, 8GB RAM.
I don't want you people to do a homework for me, but it would be a great help if you can have some suggestions based on your past experience before I procure the System and test it. Suggestions on specific brands for server are also welcome.
I am very well aware of the consequences of 'single point of failure', but have no choice for the moment.

TYIA,
[SATISH]
