you forward. Normally if you do a “simple forward” using central
office features, the caller ID will be the calling party’s number. If you’re
using a PBX (or something that looks like one) the PBX does a hook-flash, makes
a call to your PRI DID and you see the number of the line doing the forwarding.
As someone pointed out earlier, port it if you can.<o:p></o:p></span></font></p>

Multiple calls from one POTS number CAN be done, but finding anyone<br>
these days in a business office that can do anything the least bit out<br>
of the ordinary is near impossible, and one may not be willing to pay<br>
for it.<br>
Same with repair - The stock answer - "We checked the line from here, it<br>
has to be your equipment" even with an open pair in their (<br>
unmaintained ) Outside Plant is about all one can expect.<br>
Also, not all POTS lines are portable. In the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place
w:st="on">US</st1:place></st1:country-region> some ILEC's are exempt<br>
from the provisions of the 1996 telecom Act.<br>
All above assume this is in the <st1:country-region w:st="on"><st1:place w:st="on">US</st1:place></st1:country-region>.<br>
