For me works with the <span style="font-weight: bold;">noapic </span>and <span style="font-weight: bold;">acpi=off </span>argument
at grub (i use grub instead of lilo). If still doesn't work try to
disable it from the BIOS. Also try to disable the Hyper-Threading
technology from BIOS, i've read that some times Hyper-Threading doesn't
