The strange thing is, I'm looking at the database tables and nothing is
being updated....<br>
<br>
I can see the occasional update statement in the debug logs, but the
tables are not being populated with any information... (other than what
we have entered by hand).<br>

Is this normal ?<br>

Normal behavior.
Basically whenever something registers, asterisk records the info into
astdb. If you restart asterisk, asterisk will reload back into memory what
is stored in astdb.
