I'm not sure what you mean by "using Extension", but you can certainly
route calls between the two with as much complexity as you desire. (For
example, I run a public server to receive calls presented as SIP/IAX,
and a private server connected to IP-phones and a POTS card, with a VPN
tunnel between them.)
