There is NO relation to kernel or anything else.  They change the version number whenever they feel like it.  If you want the specific changes there is change log included in the source code.

	A combination of dahdi-linux 2.4.0 and dahdi-tools 2.4.0.

	I recommend you use the latest version of both (2.6.0).
