Thanks Steve, "system(sleep 3)" did the trick in the h extension.
Previousely I was running the sleep command through an agi script, but its
cleaner to have it in the dialplan.

Not really interested enough in the answer to try it either, but, if you
don't care about ugly you could try "system(sleep x)" or "agi(sleep)."
