  gcc --version
gcc (GCC) 4.1.2 20080704 (Red Hat 4.1.2-48)

  ld --version
GNU ld version 2.17.50.0.6-14.el5 20061020

running on Centos 5 with "yum update" showing it's all up to date.
I think it's 5.2 or 5.4, I just don't know how to get it.
