Sorry for the confusion.
I would shoot my foot not! On Asterisk 1.6, if Dial fails the dialplan
goes to the next one (or n+101, etc.)
In Asterisk 1.6 it tries to go to the invalid extension:

but no invalid handler

I'm very sure that the same case (doing the Dial, but Dial is not
working) it goes to n+1.
