It doesn't look like the Cisco 7940/7960 supports the auto-answer in SIP, but does using SKINNY. The Pingtel phones do support auto-answer in SIP according to their webpage. I'm not sure about the SNOM or other SIP phones.

Paging and intercom would make an asterisk a lot better solution fit for many appications.
Is the intercom/paging going to be something that is going to require different programing for every
different SIP phone manufacturer, or is there a standard way to do it?
