I know it supports additional Aastra handsets, up to 10 I believe.  As for 3rd party, not sure about that...

  James, you probably have a good point, a DECT cordless with a VoIP base 
  station would probably work better for the situation I need to cater for..

  Any pointers to recommended DECT VoIP phones?
