[Asterisk-Users] Voicemail bomb

I submitted a bug to the tracker
*(*bug<http://bugs.digium.com/view.php?id=6947>) regarding
the 256 character limit when copying a voicemail to a list of mail boxes.

The bug was closed with this note:

"Fixed in 1.2 branch, merged to trunk."

Could someone explain to me what that means... in English?

I searched the release notes of the newest asterisk version to see if this
bug was mentioned, but it was not.

I would love to know when this bug fix will be incorporated into a release,
and it would be nice to know what needed to change.  If it's a simple fix I
would just make the change and recompile the voicemail app rather than wait
for a release.

Can anyone give me some more info?
