My main goalwould be able to drop user back to the main IVR after logging
in, but would this still log (bill) total time after auth?

You can add an option to astcc to authenticate the account and then drop you
back out into the IVR.
Or you could use mysql queries in the dial plan to check the account number
before passing it to astcc.
