I am having trouble installing a digium TE405P card.
The machine is an HP DX2000 with Suse 10.
I have successfully compiled and installed the
zaptel-1.2.4 source code.
After compilation i added the following lines to the
/etc/udev/rules.d/ folder:
KERNEL="zapctl", NAME="zap/ctl"
KERNEL="zaptimer", NAME="zap/timer"
KERNEL="zapchannel", NAME="zap/channel"
KERNEL="zappseudo", NAME="zap/pseudo"
KERNEL="zap[0-9]*", NAME="zap/%n"
When doing a modprobe zaptel the zaptel module i
quitely loaded.
But when I do a modprobe wct4xxp I get:
ZT_SPANCONFIG failed on span 1: No such device or
address (6)
FATAL: Error running install command for wct4xxp
After modprobing lsmod includes:
wct4xxp 89536 0
zaptel 187268 1 wct4xxp
crc_ccitt 2176 1 zaptel
The /dev folder looks like this:
# ls -l /dev/z*
/dev/zap:
total 0
crw-rw---- 1 root root 196, 254 Mar 23 13:24 channel
crw-rw---- 1 root root 196, 0 Mar 23 13:24 ctl
crw-rw---- 1 root root 196, 255 Mar 23 13:24 pseudo
crw-rw---- 1 root root 196, 253 Mar 23 13:24 timer
The /proc/zaptel folder is empty
After doing a modprobe zaptel the following is written
to dmesg:
zaptel: module not supported by Novell, setting U
taint flag.
Zapata Telephony Interface Registered on major 196
Zaptel Version: 1.2.4 Echo Canceller: KB1
As for modprobe wct4xxp this is written to dmesg:

taint flag.
