Thanks for the idea, it will work for my two interconnected PBX's. Happily
those two can really be locked down and properly firewalled because they're
on fixed IP's (allmost).

Will using encription require some extra bandwidth? How much?

 

 

Better yet, if you want some added security 

you can get IAX2 to do encryption between two asterisk

endpoints instead and avoid the extra latency of a vpn layer.
