Yup, I kept running into limitations in the dialplan. 
There are some things agi apps can do, but not
everything. 

I have also just hit the wall with the Record() app,
it might be better for me to start in app_record.c for
some of the things I want to do, it's much smaller.

Then I'll tackle app_voicemail.c

It's encouraging to hear that it's shouldn't be a huge
 issue.
 
This will be a great way to learn C.
