[Asterisk-Users] Choppy audio

I have an a problem with audio between phones (if both are SIP, or one
is SIP and then AIX to the PSTN phone).  When music on hold plays it is
choppy, and the console always shows messages like:
 
monmp3thread XXX bytes of audio while expecting XXXX
 
What is the cause / what can I do to eliminate this?
