BTW, when this happens, I don't even see a log entry
anywhere. Does asterisk log before it core dumps? It
would be nice to know why it died from some sort of
log.

Should I submit a bug report for the speex issue?
Does anyone have speex 1.1.7 working with asterisk
1.0.6?
