Done. BTW, I think normalization is the solution. I just
had a friend leave me a message over my X100P card and it
sounded fine (and this guy is really soft spoken, too),
but when I leave a message from work over the same line
and X100P card, it's way too quiet (I'm not all that soft
spoken, either). My guess is that there are a lot of
factors involved, so we need to treat the symptoms rather
than the problem itself, for now.

I can code, so hopefully someone can point me in the right
direction so we can come up with a general workaround that
makes everyone happy until the real issue is solved.

Will sox do decibel normalization? If not, does anyone
know a utility that will? I've never written sound
manipulation code, so I'll have to find a utility or
library to do the grunt work for me...
