The data sheet for the chip(set) says: 3.3V power supply
	supports 5V and 3.3V signaling.

Since there are reports that some of them (Original Digium cards?) run
at 3.3V, is it safe to asssume that something else in the design of
the OEM/clone X100P cards requires 5V or more current than a typical
3.3V slot can handle?

Also FWIW:

I've been doing my asterisk learning with some clone X100P cards, they
are keyed for 3.3V, but will not power up on 3.3V slots. My Dell 600sc
(low end server), won't power up with them inserted. The newer
low end dell servers the 420SC's do have some 5V slots in case you
catch one of the deals.

Me personally, I'm going to upgrade to a TDM400 when I'm ready to
deploy asterisk for real. From what I can tell from the voip-info
wiki, the sipura 3000 support for use as Asterisk FXO ports doesn't
seem that promising ... yet. I hope that changes.
