Yep. The Wiki is a work in progress so some things are great... Some...
A little less great. 8)
Here is a good place to go for instructions on how to correctly install
version 59r.

It is covered in the first item of the Additional Installs section....
For future reference, documentation links at www.digium.com offer some
other good starting points for info search if you have nto seen them
yet.

Perhaps the instructions have improved, but I discovered that some
instructions were incomplete. Perhaps not to a Linux expert, but to the
"normal" reader, information such as in what directory should a specific
operation be performed.
I finally was able to move some stuff around and bumble into it, but
still get the complaint when Asterisk loads about the flexibel (sp?)
rate not fully tested.
The Wiki mentions this, but again a solution is not provided for the
novice.
