Oh yeah.  Have you done the slot swap thingy?  I just ran into an issue 
on an older system ( ASUS BX400 Dual PII/250 ) with a SCSI host adapter 
( Adaptec 29160 ) that didn't play well with a NIC in the PCI slot next 
to it ( the middle two PCI slots on the MB. )
    This was the first time.  One other time it was the NIC and SCSI 
adapter sharing an IRQ on a file/print server.
