The recommended version is 0.59r

To download it, simply go in your asterisk src then type "make mpg123". 
Then, to install it go in the subdir "cd mpg123-0.59r", then "make install"

N.B.: when you install asterisk, if you "make mpg123" before you do
"make install" on asterisk, it's supposed to install mpg123 at the
same time. The instructions provided here are for installing after you
installed asterisk.
