[Asterisk-Users] H323 vs OH323 GK registration issues

Hi,

I have an asterisk box making calls to a NEC Aspire switch. I tried
H.323 and OH323 channel types and both sort of work, but with different
problems. Let me explain, maybe some of you can help me.

Both channel types can make and receive calls acting as trunks. i.e.
I pick up a VoIP trunk in the Aspire and dial, asterisk picks the correct
number and routes it. I can also dial an Aspire extension with
'DIAL(OH323/${EXTEN}@${ASPIREIP})' and 'DIAL(H323/${EXTEN})'

H.323 successfully registers to the Aspire's internal Gatekeeper
and registers an IP Phone extention. Oh323 fails to register. I need
this registration to work to be able to use the Aspire for PSTN calls.

I tried today a no-name box, also branded 'Antek', and that box
also fails to register to the Aspire.

Yes, I could stick to the H.323 channel, but the OH323 channel
works much better, sounds better and DTMF works.

	Any ideas?
