[Asterisk-Users] Can't build cdr_addon_mysql.

Hmm.. I'm having this problem today:

/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.a
/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.la
/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.so
/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.so.14
/usr/local/mysql/lib/mysql/libmysqlclient.so.14.0.0

cc -shared -Xlinker -x -o cdr_addon_mysql.so cdr_addon_mysql.o 
-lmysqlclient -lz    -L/usr/local/mysql/lib
/usr/lib/gcc-lib/i486-slackware-linux/3.3.4/../../../../i486-slackware-linux/bin/ld: 
cannot find -lmysqlclient
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
make: *** [cdr_addon_mysql.so] Error 1

I've tried many many things to get it going but have failed (incl. 
reinstalling zlib)... any ideas?
