I don't know about that. I don't use stutter tone to indicate new VM.
But if the Wiki says, "No MWI, then probably there is no MWI at all."

Currently (read that again, Currently) there is no NAT support for
RealTime configs. Now we explain why RealTime is in the "development"
version of asterisk. Just because there is not current NAT support doesn't
mean it won't ever be in there.
