I like the WIP-5000. My only real complaint is that the volume on the
phone is a bit too low, even when turned right up to the max. I end up
using a cell phone headset quite frequently.
In my office I have some trouble with it occasionally just dropping off
the wlan for 10-30 seconds then reconnecting. I've tried both a Linksys
WAP54G and Belkin 802.11b access points but it still happens every few
hours.
The internal web site for setup is a little strange, but it works. I
found it easier to set the phone up using the keypad and LCD.
Just recently I was travelling and killing a couple of hours in the
Newark airport. While in the airlines lounge I was able to login to my
SIPPhone account and place a call via wifi. That was the first time
outside my home office.
The newer Xyzel wifi SIP phone is now available at Office Depot stores
in the US. I saw one earlier this week for $249. That's cheaper than
the Hitachi which was $320 when I bought mine.
