That is just wrong. You just don't go doing something like that on a
business service. And I can't believe that a provider like this (I'm
pretty sure I know who it is) doesn't have the ability to route
and/or forward traffic for particular DID's so you don't have any
downtime.

It could be just a coincidence, but my livevoip gateway starts with
iax01, and the service I have had over the last week has gotten to the
point of not being acceptable.

I have also been using teliax. They have good rates and support is a
lot more responsive, although I was a bit disappointed when after
fighting a problem with iax bridging for several hours I found out it
was on their end, but the bug was not posted anywhere on their site
and they were evidently aware of the problem.

For business critical stuff, I would do as the other poster said and
get your 800# from a major carrier. Kind of defeats the purpose in
some cases, but if it has to be up that's the only way I know.
Unfortunately I don't trust any of these resellers yet to be able to
provide completely reliable service. Some of it is simply because
they are resellers and are twice removed from the source of the
problem. They have to rely on someone else to fix it, and that
usually takes time.
