Hi Guy, thanks for the reply,
'rpm -qa | grep mime' brings up no result...
So I downloaded/installed the package and its working now...many thanks
for that suggestion :)
However, that only solves half my problem, the fax is still badly
corrupted. The following is from the log file :

What causes the 'bad rows', and how can I lower the bitrate to see if
this is going to solve my problem.
