I think that it is worth pointing out that the devices have no support
for DNS. You cannot have them register against a hostname, at all. I
have contacted Digium and from what they told me there is no planned
support for DNS. I think, that from a competitive standpoint, I don't
know how these devices can really compete against something like the
Sipura-2000, when you get two FXS ports, many more features, and even
DNS (for less money)!

Additionally, they have some known compatibility problems with Cisco
switches. The ethernet link would not come up and I could only get it
to work after I put a $10 Linksys hub in between the Iaxy and my
Catalyst 2950T-24. I found out about both of these after I bought one
Iaxy for testing. With problems with Cisco switches (my favorite) and
no support for one of the core protocols of the internet, I promptly
sent it back.

Furthermore, when I asked Malcolm from Digium support about it at
Astricon, he acknowledged the Cisco problem remains and they still have
no plans for DNS. He (rather harshly) continued to explain their logic
for leaving out DNS by saying "What if your DNS server goes down?"
"Then who are you going to call?" "I can get someone over here that can
explain to you why you don't need DNS." I didn't feel like explaining
to him that I am a PAYING CUSTOMER and that it might be worth their
while to listen to the people that buy their product...

I have since spent over $1000 on Sipuras, and I am not slowing down...

I love to support Digium wherever possible, but I don't want my clients
to suffer with an inferior product because of it!
