OK got a clean compile from pre3 and the mod to app_rxfax.c and it
installed.

I got a fax sent from a Ricoh bells and whistles Fax/Copier the Ricoh
said everything was OK. The message, hand written, was "This is your fax
test"

I got a tif file 6226 bytes long, but Gimp complains and then shows me a
page with a thick black line at the top.
