Thank you Michael,

I used that sethdlc which is in latest zaptel, sethdlc --version does 
not work, but "sethdlc hdlc0 --version" works

sethdlc --version
--version: unable to get interface information: No such device

/sbin/sethdlc hdlc0 --version
sethdlc version 1.15

Today, I am going to try downgrade the kernel to 2.4.19, so it will use 
old HDLC API.
