Good day everyone,
A Solution now exists for those of you still looking for the first model of Quad T1/E1 Interface Cards - the T400P and E400P.
The T400P and E400P were manufactured by Digium until a few months ago, and were designed and released under the GNU Public License as the
Tormenta II by Zapata Telephony.
Varion, Inc. is now in full production manufacturing these boards. With the Tormenta back in production, those with significant
investments in T400P or E400P designs will no longer be required to modify their designs. New systems that do not require
bus-mastering (which Digium's new card supports) can of couse also take advantage of the more cost effective Tormenta card.
The Tormenta was an excellant design, and is now being manufactured to exacting quality. Every card manufactured by Varion undergoes X-Ray
testing of the large IC Components and full Automated Optical Inspection (AOI) on the entire board. Each card is also functionally
tested for many key operations before shipment. X-Ray and AOI Testing coupled with Varion's careful selection of high quality components
help to guarantee a very high reliability card.
The Tormenta Can be purchaed from
