All, Just thought I would post again in hopes of someone being able to
advise or give their thoughts on what may be causing this, basic problem
comes down to clicks while bridging SIP phone to SIP PSTN Gateway through
asterisk.
More detail, the problem below seems to happen when the two channels are
bridging together, i.e. once the sip invite is sent to the pstn gw and the
ring begins. No way to show this in debugs really, but if i watch the timing
and listen it seems right on.

Subject: [Asterisk-Users] clicks at beginning of call
Asterisk Gurus,
I have been using asterisk for a few months now in various test scenarios,
one issue I continue to have an have not been able to find any information
on (and I have searched) is that at the beginning of a call I get 3 little
clicks (almost like a dial pulse digit pulse) during the very first ring, or
if the person is calling me I get it right after picking up. Here are the
two scenarios:
1) Sipura ---> NAT Router ---> Internet ---> Asterisk ----> Lucent MAX
TNT ---> PSTN
This is all SIP based and the Sipura is behind a NAT as noted. And as I
mentioned I get the clicks outbound during the first ring, or inbound upon
answer (I should mention other people else connected to the same system get
the same thing).
2) Sipura ---> NAT Router ---> Internet ---> Asterisk ----> Internet --->
NAT Router ---> Sipura
Same thing happens as on first.
G711 with silence detection is the codec being used, and I have checked the
sip channels info and verified the same codec is being used on both sides.
The only thing I have not tried, since it just isnt possible in this
scenario, is to have everything on public IPs and have canreinvite set to
yes and bypass asterisk.
Thoughts, guidance??????
Thanks,
Bruce Marler
