The newest firmware version I got is from ZyXEL's UK site:

The phone works, although not really the way it should. The sound
quality (G.729) is ok even with 128bit WEP. G.711 is not recommended. I
am using a Netgear AP and tested it with other 'freely available' APs on
the street. I still have problems with hangup and 'laggedness' and tons
of other smaller bugs, though. But I guess that is the reason why they
don't have v1.0 of the firmware out yet.
