My Cisco 7960 allows me to 'dial' SIP addresses.  Until that sort of
thing becomes more widespread, the 12-key pad will be all we have to
work with.  Any VoIP addressing scheme must keep this in mind.  ENUM
is probably the best (only?) mapping system we have at the moment.

"Soft phones" allow you to use your computer's keyboard, but people
tend to prefer real phones - myself included.  It's just what we're
all used to, especially in the residential market, and the alternatives
are limited at the moment.
