If you are on a windows machine, you could try using 1-Step Audio Publisher
(get it from http://www.cam.org/~noelbou/1s_main.html). You could probably
set up your * box to email the VM via some AGI script or an hourly cron job,
and just use the 1-step application to listen to the voicemail.

The app can also be used to convert from WAV to GSM and vice versa. it
doesn't have a batch conversion facility though, so file conversions can
only be done one at a time.
