Hmmm did you read any of the docs on cisco.com ?

You need to set the 'message_uri' option to the extension that you run VoiceMailMain on into the configuration file (SIP000XXXXXXX.cnf) for the phone.

Um, tell it what to do?  I don't remember exactly what I did but, it was

intuitive enough that when I got my 7960 a week ago, it only took one
try to 
get it right.
