[Asterisk-Users] Gossiptel with Asterisk?

I have now got it to register ok but it's not working properly - I can
call the 160 echo test number but it's leaving the channels open after
the call has ended (in sip show channels) and I can not make any other
calls through it - to other gossiptel users or any uk phone numbers.

I have compared my "sip show peer gossiptel" output with yours and it
all looked the same, except the host information seems to be different
(and you had nat turned off, whereas I have that on).

You had:

>   ToHost       : sip.gossiptel.com
>   Addr->IP     : 193.111.200.14 Port 5060
>   Defaddr->IP  : 0.0.0.0 Port 0

I get this:

  ToHost       : sip.gossiptel.com
  Addr->IP     : 213.199.36.11 Port 5060


DNS says this:
sip.gossiptel.com has address 213.199.36.11


So, I assume you must have something different in sip.conf - this is
what I have:

register => USERID:PASSWORD at sip.gossiptel.com/USERID

[gossiptel]
  type=friend
  username=USERID
  secret=PASSWORD
  host=sip.gossiptel.com
  nat=yes 
  canreinvite=no
  context=incoming_gossiptel
