[Asterisk-Users] SIP and IAX Registration Problem with Dynamic IP

Hi there,

I'm having problems with the current Debian unstable package of
Asterisk. I'm not sure if it's package related or a general problem
with Asterisk, so bear with me please.

I'm running my Asterisk on my home net behind NAT. Deutsche Telekom's
ADSL is slightly braindead in that they drop the connection after
being online constantly for 24 hours so you have to reconnect and get
a new IP address.
When I run my Asterisk for a few days in a row it drops the
registrations both on SIP and IAX and can't register again until I
restart it. I believe it has something to do with the dynamic and
changing IP address but am not sure.

Anybody out there who can verify this or knows the solution
immediately? So far I have a cron job running that stops Asterisk for
10 minutes after I get the new address and that seems to work well so
far.

Kind regards,
Axel
