Do you mean with regards to prompts and phrases etc?
I've done work on systems in the past where a bit of extra work in the
studio has produced great sounding results on the phone.. reading 234 as
"two hundred" "and" "thirty four" as opposed to "two" "hundred" "and"
"thirty" "four". (I know, I know, the "and" isn't really used like that in
North America, but this was back in the UK, it's more the norm there!)
I also did quite a bit of work with smooth phrasing for phone numbers. To
hear how this sounds call 1-888 245 4545, it's a local number locator that I
wrote for the company I worked for previously. We broke North American style
numbers in to groups of 3 and 2 digits, recorded up and down inflections for
the 2 digit combinations.. sure, it's 1200 prompts, but I think it sounds
really great compared to the usual telco "six".. "zero".. "four".. clonky
type announcements.
