I'll agree with this statement. The main switch in our office currently
has 4 versions of gcc installed
ii gcc 3.3-1 The GNU C compiler.
ii gcc-2.95 2.95.4-17 The GNU C compiler.
ii gcc-3.0 3.0.4-7 The GNU C compiler.
ii gcc-3.0-base 3.0.4-7 The GNU Compiler Collection (base package).
ii gcc-3.2 3.2.3-0pre9 The GNU C compiler
ii gcc-3.2-base 3.2.3-0pre9 The GNU Compiler Collection (base package)
ii gcc-3.3 3.3.1-0pre0 The GNU C compiler
ii gcc-3.3-base 3.3.1-0pre0 The GNU Compiler Collection (base package)
And a plain gcc -v yields
Thread model: posix
gcc version 3.3.1 20030626 (Debian prerelease)
That appears to be nearly a year old build with no problems.
Currently the machine is at a half year up time, and 1 month of asterisk
uptime.
