Hi James,
I have 3 Pulver WiSIP, 3 Grandstream 101's, a registered version of the
X-Ten soft phone, 1 Cisco ATA 186 and a Sipura.
The Sipura outshines the Cisco IMO. Its easier to configure, has more
features and can sense fax traffic. They are typically $85-100 new on
ebay.
I like the grandstream but you get what you pay for, Its going for
anything from $60-120 depending on whom you buy it from. The phone is easy
to setup and looks good on the desk in the study but the speakerphone
sucks. People I'm speaking to complain of an echo which goes away when I
pick up the handset. It must be full duplex with no noise cancelling etc.
AS for the WiSIP, STAY WELL AWAY!! I have 3 and they all started to
exhibit the same problem after only 4 weeks out of the box. They become
deaf and consistantly miss the call setup. The processor in the phone is
very slow which can be demonstrated by the painfullnes endured when
navigating the menu's or configuring its web interface. None of the
features that Pulver claims work (hold, transfer, call waiting, second
line etc) and he will not respond to any critisism of the product. You can
forget trying to talk to their tech support too. She sucks.
The X-Ten soft phone is working flawlessly on my laptop. I paid the $50 to
enable the greyed out features such as transfer and conferencing as well
as have more lines available to me.
Hope that helps
