The stutter tone and is a function of asterisk after a call is connected
to asterisk. It should provide callerid for FXS ports. It has been
mentioned here before that the ring generator is easily damaged, and
those cheap AB1's may be damaged. This happened to us. We bought a
inexpensive AB1 off of eBay and the ring generator was nonfunctional. 

Just make sure you have a way of testing them before you can not return
them.
