Marcel:
Generally, the ton for A subscriber is setted as "National Number", and ton
for B subscriber is setted as "local".
In the specific case for Siemens EWSD (wonderful switch), it does a
conversion a digit using an internal table, this tables do this:
EWSD Side Internal Conversion
Local received Nothing Added
National received "0" added
International received "00" added
Suppose that we use "0" for National and "00" for International.
National and International change by country, but nobody changes the local
number. You could send the national numbers in some ways:
Case A) National + Number
Case B) Local + "0" +Number
Case C) Unknown + "0" + Number
And, of course, you could send the international numbers in some ways:
Case A) International + Number
Case B) Local + "00" + Number
Case C) Unknown + "00" + Number
Case D) National + "0" + Number
For the equipments that can't change the ton bytes, the most acceptable way
to work is set the ton as local and work always as "Case B". The ideally way
to work should the equipment sends ton dynamically, reading zeros (or any
character) of string dialled.
In the case of Lucent 5ESS (big piece of s**t), PRI doen's look for ton at
all, but it have some problems with Unknown ton.
Regards,
Gus
