It's GSM all the way.
The sound between the X-Lite and Asterisk is good.  Like I said,
When I call an 800 number from X-Lite to asterisk to iaxtel the sound
is good.

Only when I call X-lite to Asterisk to iaxtel and then back to
Asterisk is it unaceptably bad.

There is a good chance it is the outbound link from my system to
iaxtel that is bad.  Sound likey

What would cause that.  I'm on a residential DSL line.
